Active Release Technique (ART) (click here to learn more at the ART website)
ART is a patented treatment technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves.
Many conditions have one important thing in common: they are often a result of over-used muscles. Over-used muscles (and other soft tissues) accumulate small tears through repetitive motions, and prolonged postures. This can cause your body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in the affected area. As scar tissue builds up, muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons causes tendonitis, and nerves can become trapped. This can cause pain, tightness, and weakness.
During an ART treatment, Dr. Warner uses his hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of the damages tissues.
Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements to quickly and permanently release the tissues and allow healing to occur.
Functional Movement Screen (FMS) (click here to learn more at the FMS website)
The FMS is currently used by teams in NHL, NFL, NBA and MLB to assess their athletes. It is a grading system that documents movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, the FMS readily identifies limitations and asymmetries that quantify the risk of injury. The screen generates a score that can be used to target problems and track progress.
Medical acupuncture
Medical acupuncture is a contemporary, anatomically focused usage of traditional acupuncture that has been used for over 5000 years. Medical acupuncture targets specific muscles and nerves, whereas classical acupuncture focuses on traditional meridian points. Acupuncture needles along with electricity are used to reactivate inhibited muscles, calm tight muscles, increase blood flow, decrease pain and promote healing
Joint Mobilizations
Injuries, poor posture, and tight muscles can all affect the mobility of the various joints in our body. The joints in our body are areas where two bones meet and are found all over our body - from those in the spine to our shoulders and knees. These joints are like any mechanical joint - they need motion to keep them moving smoothly, otherwise they can become restricted. This can cause pain at the area, cause surrounding tissues to tighten and reduce range of motion.
Gentle joint mobilizations and stretches are used to release these restricted joints and alleviate pain, and increase range of motion.
Custom foot orthotics
Our feet are the foundation of our body and subjected to immense force. Flat feet or high arches can cause pain not only at the feet, but further up the structure at our knees, hips and back. Custom foot orthotics provide proper support and shock absorption for the feet and entire body.
Rehabilitation
All patients receive a simple, personalized, strengthening and stretching program to not only rehabilitate the area, but also to prevent any recurrences.
Kineseo Tape/ Spider Tech Injury Tape (click here to learn more at the SpiderTech website)
Taping an injured area can act as a treatment between office treatments - encouraging better postural positions, preventing harmful ranges of motion, decreasing pain, restoring normal muscle function and improving ciruculation.
